Prosthetics are all artificial materials that are prepared to restore the needs and aesthetic appearance of the functions of chewing, speech, etc. of the teeth that have been lost due to various reasons in the mouth.

In denture, the loss of oral health is corrected. For this purpose, the lost lip, cheek support, speech function, chewing function and aesthetic image are recovered. Psychological support is provided for individuals who have forgotten to laugh and who have to live with missing teeth. It is aimed to increase the quality of life of people with prostheses.

PROSTHETIC VARIANTS

Fixed Denture:

They are glued prostheses such as a crow-bridge that the patient himself can not remove.

Total Prostheses:

It is applied to mouths where all teeth are missing.

Partial Prostheses:

Partially applied to toothless mouths. The nails and the hooks on the teeth are held together.

Precision Hold Prostheses:

Partially applied to toothless mouths. It is a non-aesthetic aesthetic prosthesis that looks like an external hook.

KRON-BRIDGE PROSTHESIS

(Fixed Denture)

In the construction of dentures, a certain amount of material is removed from the tooth surface and a procedure called dental cutting (dental reduction) is performed. The dentures are used by bonding to the teeth and can not be removed by the patient.

Fixed dentures made for replacing missing teeth by support from neighboring teeth in the presence of one or more missing teeth are called KÖPRÜ.

Fixed prostheses made for the restoration of aesthetic and function by coating the teeth which have been damaged due to bruising or trauma are called KRON.

WHAT MUST BE PERFORMED AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF THE KRON-BRIDGE PROSTHESIS

1. There may be pain for a while after the teeth are cut, until the bridge prostheses are inserted and after they are attached. This period will continue until the tooth adapts to its new condition.

2. Dental pain can be controlled with a pain medication.

3. It can be difficult to get used to dentures. In the early days a big crowd can be felt in the mouth. Effective chewing may not be possible. Be patient in this time.

4. Hard foods should be avoided to prevent breakage and damage of the prostheses.

5. Cleaning of prostheses is important for long life. After each meal, the residues should be cleaned with natural teeth, at least once a day using dental floss and interface brushes, between the tooth and bridge prosthesis.

6. Each prosthesis has a lifetime. Depending on the changing tissues in the time, the prosthesis becomes harmonious and its usage becomes difficult. This period is 5 years on average.

TOTAL-PARTIAL PROSTHESES

"These prostheses are the types of prostheses that the patient can insert and remove itself"
